SHOW ME DHARMA'S SHOW ME SUPPORT NETWORK

Show-Me Support is a network offered for and by people in the Show-Me Dharma meditation community. Support is available through this network for sangha members during times of transition or crisis. As we know from our Dharma practice, the giving and receiving of service can be a gift both for the receiver and the provider. We encourage everyone in our meditation community to ask for support when needed.

Kinds of Support Offered

Meals brought to the home
Transportation to doctors' visits or other destinations
Grocery shopping or other errands
Light household chores such as vacuuming, doing dishes
Routine outdoor maintenance chores such as lawnmowing, shoveling snow
Emergency childcare
Home visits

Things to Think About When You Make a Request

What types of support you might need & when
How long you'll need support services:
If it might be for an extended period of time, we'll probably arrange
support for a week or two at a time & reassess the availability of
   resources as we go along.
If there's anything you don't want, for instance:
If there foods you or family members can't eat
If there are times of the day you don't want to be disturbed
If there's information you don't want shared with people who will be giving support

How to Make a Request for Support

To request support or to offer service, please contact one of the support coordinators:
Barb Clarke 443-0362 (home) or 884-9046 (work)
Becky DeGraaf (contact in person)
Terry Furstenau 660-248-1770 or
Tonda March 443-0214 or

Please keep in touch with the Support Network coordinators & let us know how it's going. If you need more support or there are any problems, let us know. We'll try to help with referrals for services beyond what our network can provide.
