A NON-RESIDENTIAL WEEKEND RETREAT With GINA SHARPE Cultivating Equanimity in Times of Trouble and in Times of Grace
Saturday, April 26, 9 am-6 pm; Sunday April 27, 9 am-12 noon Black Culture Center, University of Missouri Cost: $55-$100, sliding scale based on ability to pay (scholarships also available) **registration required** On this weekend with Gina Sharpe, she will offer teachings and guide us in our own cultivation and establishment of Equanimity through direct instruction, guided and silent sitting and walking meditation. There will also be opportunities for interviews and questions. This weekend is suitable for both new and experienced meditators. Gina Sharpe has studied and practiced with teachers in the Zen, Tibetan and Theravada schools of Buddhism for over 30 years. Her training includes sitting meditation retreats in Asia as well as numerous retreats in the U.S. She leads retreats at, among other venues, Spirit Rock Meditation Center and Insight Meditation Society. She teaches meditation and Dharma in a variety of settings, including teaching and mentoring prison inmates in a maximum security setting. She is a co-founder of New York Insight Meditation Center.
